Scandals, Scandals, Scandals

Bobby Petrino was just fired by the University of Arkansas, no surprise there. Like bro, when your driving around and you crash your motorcycle, your probably gonna wanna tell the full story to your boss. Chances are, he probably won't fire you for having an affair. Like, I'm not saying he shouldn't be punished for the affair, but thats family business. You can't just leave that detail out, thats a big detail to leave out. But really though, Petrino will be fan, dudes a winner, he's won everywhere except for Atlanta. I think he will be fine. Arkansas however I dunno. Like Petrino is a good coach and he has built a great program, but who knows if they will be able to keep it up. Tough for the AD though, he was lied to. Either hes gotta fire him on principal, or keep him around and know he could get lied to again? Plus if you suspend him the first six games then chances are they will lose one, seriously diminishing their national championship hopes anyway. I say he made the right call.

Next up, you got Ozzie in Miami basically saying he loves Fidel Castro, not a good move playa. You live in Miami, which is like half cuban, you don't wanna be throwing out weird comments about Cuba. Especially when the general consenses among everyone in the world is that Castro's a bad dude. Plus you don't know him, how can you say you love the dude? I just don't get what he was tryna say. But, I like Ozzie, dude lives with his heart on his sleeve, and I generally feel like his apology was genuine. Either way, not the best way to start off your new life in Miami.

Lastly, the Saints bountygate suspensions were not turned over. No shit sherlock. With the current trend of the NFL they are all lucky they didn't get banned for life. Now, I personally think the punishments are to harsh. I say Greg Williams with out a doubt should be suspended a year, but any longer then that I just don't know. The NFL and the US has a long standing history of giving people a second chance, and this guy deserves it. Sure, people were getting paid to injure other people, but they were getting paid chump change, a couple hundered dollars when they make a couple million a year. Additionally, everyone in the NFL is doing it, so whether or not you think its a huge deal, the Saints were just the ones unfortunately who got caught. As for Payton, I would have suspended him eight games, and taken away his entire years worth of salary. I don't know if you can do that, but thats what they should be able to do. Dude didn't fix the problem, similar to Paterno at Penn State, but also the Saints shouldn't be this punished for something many of the players on the team weren't a part of. Now they need to go find a new coach for one year, and who really wants a one year temporary job. Tough situation, but either way if that tape never comes out it'd be a different story, because that tape was all kinds of bad.
