New Season, Same Stench

I was as excited as anyone for the Red Sox season to start. Honestly, I don't have great hopes for the team this year, and my hopes haven't changed at all since the season started. Nevertheless, despite the season being three games young I already believe my preseason beliefs are coming true. First off, I don't think the first three losses are a fluke. The Sox struggled against one of the best teams in baseball, and honestly, they are a better team right now. The Red Sox have a ton of injuries right now. Honestly, we are playing without any sort of corner outfielder, and we have no shortstop. That being said, I really like Ryan Sweeney's game and think he could become an everyday player in right, I also like Nick Punto on a couple days a week basis, nevertheless until the Sox heal up they ain't gonna be a great ball club. Secondly, the pitching staff is over rated. Lester is a great pitcher, but behind that I just don't know. Beckett looks out of shape, and mentally frustrated. Buckholtz is still dealing with some back issues, and its not definite he will return to his previous form. And beyond that, who knows what the fourth and fifth starters will do, and if they will even be able to retain their jobs. As far as I see it right now, we could use Bard closing out games, cause if we had a real closer we could be 2-1 right now. Lastly, our bullpen sucks. They flat out just ain't that good. We need Andrew Bailey to heal up, and to heal up fast. But even once he does heal, whos gonna set him up? I just ain't sold. Looks like it could be another long year of beer and chicken, wouldn't wanna be Bobby V right about now.
